The HealthHub integrates traditional healthcare services such as primary care, pediatrics, rehabilitation, behavioral health, urgent care, imaging and laboratories with wellness activities including fitness classes, nutrition education and complementary retailers to promote healthy living. The 21-acre campus also includes a half-mile walking trail and a serenity garden.
This diverse collection of programmatic spaces are located around a convenient, central lobby and registration area. A large, open staircase promotes physical activity and expanses of windows offer an abundance of natural light. To enable patients to take control of their health at home, what’s dubbed the BayCare “TechDeck” provides access to remote monitoring and wearable technology services.
After checking in at one of the central registration stations in the lobby, visitors aren’t asked to sit in a waiting room—they’re escorted to their exam room by a friendly BayCare team member. By decreasing door-to-doctor time, the experience is entirely focused on the patient. Exam rooms have dual access, meaning patients enter from the public corridor and caregivers enter from a care team collaboration space. The “back of house” space allows care givers to collaborate in an efficient, fully integrated environment, minimizing the distance needed to travel between workstations, offices and exam rooms and giving patients the privacy they desire.
