Follow-the-Sun Support
As the North American hub for Baker McKenzie’s operations, the firm’s signature follow-the-sun support was at the center of our design process. We needed to create a space that allowed Baker McKenzie employees to collaborate across the organization, regardless of their physical location, to lead clients in a constantly changing world.
An Assortment of Spaces
The Tampa Center is home to a variety of teams, from finance and IT to talent management, which meant the office needed a variety of spaces. Open workstations encourage collaboration and huddle spaces are perfect for impromptu team meetings, while privacy chairs and focus rooms provide space for heads-down work. The office’s work café serves as a community space for the more than 300 employees, while the board room and training room offer additional gathering spaces for large groups.
Global Culture, Local Flair
Baker McKenzie’s global culture, combined with Tampa’s local flair, inspired our designers to create a space that is cool and contemporary yet polished and culturally-fluent. The reception area includes a large feature wall and light oak floors laid in a timeless herringbone pattern, while freestanding glass walls at work zones and glass fronts on private offices reinforce the firm’s open-door culture. Signage, artwork and wall graphics reflect Baker McKenzie’s corporate identity while reflecting the aesthetic of Tampa Bay.
