Visiting a hospital can sometimes be an overwhelming experience, so our team created a relaxing environment by incorporating wood tones, natural stone and glass tiles. The center offers robes, spa water, snacks and access to charging stations for patients, while the private labor and delivery and post-partum recovery suites feature patient bathrooms, a sleeper sofa with a built-in work table and power outlet for visiting family members and custom casework camouflaging murphy bassinets, medical gasses and clinical supplies.
Our team also incorporated design elements to increase operational efficiencies. The obstetrics department features centralized nurse stations and in-room monitors for doctor/patient communication, and a nurse station in the nursery shortens the distance between staff and babies.
Additionally, our landscape architects designed a healing garden with pink-toned flowers to raise awareness for breast health, while our team of experiential designers created new signage that blends the space seamlessly with the intensive care unit, emergency department and medical/surgical suites, which were previously designed by Gresham Smith.
