Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Omar Wood has joined the firm as clinical liaison on the firm’s Healthcare Advisory Services team. The Healthcare Advisory Services team focuses on developing solutions that improve health outcomes, quality of care and patient and family satisfaction, while also decreasing length of stay and improving return on investment.
As clinical liaison, Wood will use his 21 years of project management and medical equipment planning experience and his more than 10 years of clinical expertise to develop data-driven insights and strategies for healthcare clients. He will evaluate volume and throughput data to determine program requirements and process improvements. Wood will also lead change management, serving as a liaison between clinical departments and caregivers, while also employing strategies to promote the smooth implementation of new processes.
“Omar brings a unique combination of experience to this role, having worked as both as a clinician and a consultant during his career,” said Gresham Smith Advisory Services Program Director Doug Spies, AIA. “He has a strong track record of understanding the unique challenges the healthcare industry faces with capital project investment and developing strategic solutions that improve operations and care. He will be a great addition to our Advisory Services team and I’m proud to welcome him to Gresham Smith.”
Wood joins Gresham Smith from The Warren Group, where he led clients through decision-making processes, developed master plans for various healthcare facility types, and implemented performance development and process improvement measures. Prior to The Warren Group, he served as the director of medical equipment planning at FCA Architects.
A licensed practical nurse, Wood also has 23 years of experience as a certified surgical first assistant.
