Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that the Starkey Ranch ER & Hospital, the first Nutex Health Inc. micro-hospital in Florida, has officially opened and is now providing convenient 24/7 access to emergency, outpatient and inpatient medical care for the Starkey Ranch, Trinity and Odessa communities.
The 31,000-square-foot facility features eight inpatient rooms, eight ER beds and onsite laboratory and imaging services including MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds, offering comprehensive care and emergency treatment options for adult and pediatric patients within a comfortable, modern environment.
This project is one of several micro-hospitals planned throughout Florida to accommodate the growing population amid limited land space.
Much smaller than a traditional hospital, micro-hospitals are one- or two-story buildings that typically include one operating suite, eight to 12 emergency rooms, six to 10 inpatient rooms, a procedure room and a full imaging suite. Micro-hospitals also differ from critical access hospitals, as they are designed to serve lower acuity patients who don’t need an Intensive Care Unit or require an extended stay after a surgery. Still offering the full range of services for those who are seeking care and treatment for minor surgeries and general medical needs, the facilities provide convenient, reliable care and leave space in large-scale hospitals for those who need it the most.
