Gresham Smith is proud to announce that the firm has been selected by the State of Tennessee Real Estate Asset Management Agency (STREAM) to provide on-call commissioning services at both new and existing state facilities. The firm’s commissioning team will analyze the building’s mechanical systems to improve operational needs and energy consumption.
“With new technology positively benefitting building operations and occupant comfort, the need for commissioning continues to increase to keep our state buildings up to date,” said Project Executive Johnathan Woodside, P.E., CEM, CxA, LEED AP O+M. “As Tennessee’s population continues to grow, and economic activity expands, our firm’s upgrades to state facilities will support staff in their work.”
Under the contract, Gresham Smith will evaluate the existing HVAC, mechanical, controls, electrical and lighting systems before conducting final commissioning, which includes executing prefunctional and functional performance tests and overseeing training and O+M compilation for the end user. The firm will also conduct energy modeling to identify ways to improve energy consumption. The anticipated projects are expected to serve a wide range of needs, and Gresham Smith will work closely with the state to meet each individual projects’ requirements.
Gresham Smith’s contract with STREAM begins in November 2022 and runs through October 2027.
