As chief operating officer (COO), Peter Oram is responsible for delivering a profitable business plan for the firm, ensuring exceptional work experiences for our staff, and providing high-quality, innovative solutions and services to our clients. His primary focus revolves around leading and supporting market and Corporate Services leaders to align with Gresham Smith’s Core Purpose and Core Values.
With more than 30 years of experience in operational, technical, leadership and business expansion roles, Peter has effectively served clients from both the public and private sectors. Since joining the firm in 2016, he has created and implemented targeted strategies to promote leadership development and improve business operations. Before stepping into the role of COO, Peter held dual roles as market vice president for our Transportation and Water + Environment markets, boosting profitability, expansion and diversification. A dedicated advocate for industry education, Peter has been a longstanding Program Committee member of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology. He’s developed training programs for organizations including the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation, and has contributed research and technical expertise on infrastructure asset management to various industry and academic conferences and publications.
Prior to his MVP roles, Peter served as division vice president of Gresham Smith’s multimarket South Division, where he led the expansion of the firm’s Atlanta offices and the consolidation of its business operations. His experience outside of Gresham Smith includes leadership roles overseeing operations, finance and strategy at architecture and engineering firms in the U.S. and U.K.
