Build Your Skills with Build U
Our Build U initiative provides you with a multitude of programs and resources to grow your technical and leadership skills. We offer numerous in-house learning and development courses and workshops, as well as opportunities to lead new initiatives, learn from cross-market teams and build relationships. Alongside our formalized performance development program, we’re invested in your success.
Additionally, our Blueprint for Supervisory Excellence program provides a model for achieving Gresham Smith’s vision for effective supervision. As a supervisor, you have access to a multitude of trainings and resources that equip you to lead, develop and support your employees.
Pursue Professional Licensure
We support your journey to professional licensure with a variety of training and development resources—from study groups and mentor meetings to an annual event dedicated to celebrating our newest licensed professionals. We also provide time and resources for continuing education so that you can improve your skills and stay current on industry trends. We also put our money where our mouth is: we pay your exam and licensure fees!
Be an Industry Advocate
We encourage our staff to get involved with industry organizations and contribute to discussions related to trends affecting our clients, regulations and policy changes impacting our industries and the most effective solutions for projects. We’ll even reimburse you for membership fees and cover the time you spend at society activities.
Care For Your Community
We encourage our employees to serve with civic and community organizations to help better the places we call home. Every year, we support more than 100 charitable and civic organizations across our office locations, and our employees are involved in a variety of activities at a personal level too—from sitting on boards to donating their time and money. We believe strongly in individual volunteering and provide a volunteer-hours matching program, where we’ll provide a paid match to you for the hours you spend volunteering during the workweek.
