Gresham Smith is excited to announce that it has been selected to provide critical services for utility master planning at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Our portion of the three-year contract covers domestic water, fire water, sanitary, stormwater and deicing utilities at the 7,000-acre facility.
Developing a utility master plan that aligns with CVG’s airport master plan, sustainability master plan, operational needs, maintenance challenges, regulatory requirements, and near-term development project implementation requires a comprehensive and integrated approach. Gresham Smith’s solution will focus on characterizing the location, condition, and capacities of existing utilities; using existing utility capacities and connection points where possible to support current operational and planned development project utility needs; and adding new utility alignments and capacities where needed to fully support future development.
Gresham Smith’s project scope also includes using existing utility GIS base mapping, model-driven capacity analyses, a condition assessment, and siting of potential utility modifications to identify specific utility-based CIP projects that align with planned development projects for the next 10 to 15 years.
