More Efficient Dewatering
Integrating the latest technology into SCBWRF will create a value-added resource recovery process for the county, offsetting energy usage and stretching ratepayer dollars. Gresham Smith is providing pre- and final design as well as construction services for improvements to three high-speed dewatering centrifuges, dewatered conveyance equipment, polymer storage and feed systems and electrical and instrumentation equipment. The dewatering equipment must consistently meet the requirements of the sludge drying facility for percent dried solids. We are conducting thorough evaluation of dewatering and polymer equipment so that the highest quality equipment is specified and installed.
Sustainably Efficient
As part of the project, the County asked Gresham Smith for a review of the facility’s overall solids processes. We are reviewing energy and chemical requirements and usage in order to verify energy efficiency goals are met and as well as identifying areas to implement future sustainable design features that align with Envision™.
