Broadband Upgrades in Tennessee

Charter Communications contracted with Gresham Smith to provide design services for the installation of 1.9 miles of new underground broadband/communications facilities in Loudon County, Tennessee, in order to accommodate a Tennessee Department of Transportation roadway and multi-bridge project. The design for this particular project included installation of approximately 24,000 linear feet of 4” schedule 40 PVC conduit, 3,000 linear feet of 4” fiberglass conduit, three bridge crossing hanger systems consisting of 28 anchor hangers and 222 intermediate hangers, 18 handholes and two overhead to underground risers. In addition to the design provided for the installation of these new systems, we also provided utility coordination with other proposed utilities involved in the project, construction specification development, and construction oversight and engineering.
