Gresham Smith has been named one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2022 Best Places to Work. Based on feedback from local employees when surveyed about the firm’s workplace policies and culture, communication, engagement, trust in leadership, and other factors, Gresham Smith earned this honor for the third consecutive year.
“As a multi-market firm, we know that our commitment to our employees is how we can foster a world-class culture where everyone is successful. Culture is one of the lenses through which we measure our success,” said Gresham Smith CEO Rodney Chester. “We empower our employees to reach their highest potential, and that has been reflected in this distinguished recognition.”
Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Gresham Smith has had a presence in Birmingham since 1979. Locally, the team specializes in providing architecture, engineering and interior design services for the firm’s Healthcare, Transportation, and Water + Environment clients, including University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Medicine, Encompass Health Corporation, Blue Bell Creameries, the Alabama Department of Transportation, City of Birmingham Water Works Board, and Jefferson County Department of Environmental Services.
In addition to the firm’s involvement with the United Way of Greater Alabama, Gresham Smith employees are active members with the Alabama chapters of the International Interior Design Association, the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Highway Engineers and the Alabama Water Environment Association.
This award is the latest addition to the firm’s growing list of workplace accolades. The firm has also been recognized this year as a top place to work in South Florida and Tampa Bay, and Gresham Smith has repeatedly earned best places to work recognition across its other office locations.
